FAMILY HOME RENOVATION & ADDITION — SEATTLE HOMES — EXPOSED STRUCTURE — GREEN BUILDING

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

This traditional 1940's home in the Laurelhurst neighborhood is transformed by a second-story addition and first-floor renovation. An exposed timber structure guides one from the entry, into the great room space where abundant natural light, white walls, and wood reign. In the staircase feature, thin, closely spaced balusters create a visual experience as you pass along the balcony.

The home’s functionality is improved, providing additional living space while maintaining the original footprint, creating a healthier environment, and interpreting modern design and aesthetics.
